Ouch! That hurts!

Well this past week has not been a pleasant one and not one that I had expected to have.  It started friday night late... a pain that I never could have imagined possible.  I tried everything that night imaginable to get it to go away...but nothing worked.  I finally got Ross convinced to take me in and I was admitted Saturday night.  Pancreatitis was my serious disease that I was diagnosed with.  The pain was about more than I can handle.  They had to rest my pancreas by putting me on a strict sugar diet... thru the IV.  Normal numbers of lipase is 50 mine was over 3000.

When the pancreas is inflamed it literally begins to break itself down.  This is one organ that you cannot live without and can't be transplanted.  It took over 4 doses of the strongest narcotic that they have in the hospital to even bring the pain down from a 12 to a 9.  I have developed a high pain tolerance but this was something else.

I am so grateful for those who came to see me to lift my spirits and those who called. I am so thankful for my sister for taking such good care of Brayden Sunday thru Tues night.  I am grateful for a dear friend who stayed the night with me Monday.  She served me so sweetly and thoughtfully.  She shaved my legs for me and then massaged them.  She played cards to help me keep my mind off of things.  But I am so thankful she was there for if not I would have hit the toilet or floor in the bathroom for I was passing out.  I have never passed out before... ever!  It took 15 min to get the color back in my face.

That next morning I had a very scary experience, I ended up having an allergic reaction to benedryl thru the IV.  I couldn't breathe and was passing out in the bed.  Christine got there a few min after it happened and I asked her to call Ross at work and tell him I wanted him there and a blessing.  He came and it took over an hour to get back to normal again.  I am so thankful for the Priesthood!  I got to come home that night and have been put on strict rest for a week.  Thank you to everyone who have brought in wonderful dinners for my family.  Toni, Megan, Rose, Sondra,Heather, Shaha. Sheryl for serving me yesterday and going to the store for me.  All of your prayers and love and service and calls and visits and flowers and cards.  You have no idea how much it means to me!!  I pray for each of you to be blessed for your sweet service!  I am slowly recovering.  Can't wait until I am back to normal again!!  I love each of you with all my heart!
